Take off for a day of space and aviation history, and try out Evergreen’s pilot project for T1D accommodations.

Accessibility and inclusion are a top priority for the leadership at Evergreen. They have invited us to spend a day at the museum and demo some of the T1D accessibility updates they have made through partnering with us.

Evergreen is working on putting together spaces throughout the museum to make it easier to deal with lows, snacks, site changes, and all the things that keep us from having to walk across a museum to find a bathroom or eating space. They are also working with their cafe staff to label their food with carb counts and provide more low carb/no carb options.

In addition to a day exploring the history of air and space travel, they have also invited us to stay for a private movie screening in their theater.

• Our event is for museum visit only. The water park is separate from the museum.

Type 1 Unbound volunteers are unable to do blood sugar monitoring, management, or treatment at this event, so please accompany your children if they are not self-managing. We hope to be able to do drop-off events for all management levels in the future.
